Lucy Worsley and Anthony Delaney on the hidden history of lovers and lawbreakers: QUEER GEORGIANS

A recording from MY LIFE IN THE PAST's live video

Thank you to the ever-so-many of you who tuned in last night to hear Anthony Delaney talking about queer history in the eighteenth century!

It was wonderful to have lots of newcomers to MY LIFE IN THE PAST who are fans of Anthony’s HUGE history podcast, After Dark.

I said I’d share the two books Anthony recommended, which are:

Alan Bray. Homosexuality in Renaissance England. London: Gay Men’s Press, 1982.

Jen Manion. Female Husbands: A Trans History. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2020.

But of course don’t miss Anthony’s own latest: published as Queer Georgians, A Hidden History of Lovers, Lawbreakers and Homemakers in the UK, and in the US as Queer Enlightenments.

I’m currently working on another super-exciting guest for next time - can’t wait to see you then!

Lucy
