The recent series of ‘LWI’ has just finished on the telly in the UK. I call it ‘LWI’, because I can’t go round saying ‘Lucy Worsley Investigates,’ can I? It’s embarrassing.
Did you see the one about Jack the Ripper?
It was so satisfying to make a Jack the Ripper documentary that … wasn’t about Jack the Ripper.
Practically the first thing I said was ‘in this programme, for once we’re not going to propose a ‘new suspect’.’
Despite that, though, while we were filming I did get a new insight into who Jack the Ripper ‘really was’, and what happened to him.
We didn’t include it in the programme, having actively set out not to make that programme.
But I think I can share it with you here instead!
