I have been to Kensington Palace twice. The first time to see an exhibition of Princess Diana's clothes about 20 years ago. They also played a video of her most glamourous wedding.

I went for my second visit last year I see the Courtiers exhibition some of the characters I could remember from reading your book, the same with the grand staircase.

I really enjoyed seeing the childhood scenes of Queen Victoria. The cot, her toys, the dolls house and puppet theatre.

Thank you for all your hard work Lucy, to give us such an interesting glimpse into the past.

Thank you Lucy. It was your work on 'Courtiers' and the 'Lesser-Behind-the Scenes' people that I found so fascinating and ahead of its time in dealing with the latter: true 'hidden histories' .

Kensington Palace is always interesting: I'm always drawn to the staircase with its fascinating individuals you've brought to life for us.

I have yet to visit the UK, Lucy! But, it's on my "bucket list", as we say in the States. On the agenda is any site that you have shown in your programs. Kensington is on the list.

This is an amazing project! And very impressive. Naturally what seems simple ends up taking up life for a lot longer than we expected. Generally something great is the result!

Is the young lad on the right of the first photo clinging on to the outside of the balustrade? How long did he have to stay like that while the artist sketched him? I wonder whether he used to slide down the banisters. You can imagine the servants having fun in a large palace. Wasn't there a boy who secretly lived inside Buckingham Palace during Victoria's reign?

Further to my earlier comment, took a friend to Kensington today for her first ever visit. As well as Dress Codes which she really enjoyed, I made sure she got a good look at Lucy's 'Staircase' and gave her a 'taster' of Lucy's 'Courtiers' book and TV / U Tube bits; I've also flagged for her Lucy's article here, I hope she'll become a subscriber and better still a Luciferian.
