I'm interested in how the Victorians actually affected Tudor history - as I understand it, the Tudors weren't a "thing" until the Victorians decided to use their history to make their points about modestly and fidelity. What's true vs what's Victorian fiction?
Lucy, I'd be interested in you covering Elizabeth Bathory. There is, I understand, some controversy about the extent of her crimes. Maybe she didn't torture her handmaidens to death and bathe in their blood. Some have suggested that the King of Hungary at the time owed her a lot of money and that may have been one motivation for a conspiracy against her.
Lucy, I know you’ve covered Bolsover castle in the past. But I’m sure there are many more stories for us from your time there. The stories of the historical place mixed with your own memories and experiences while there, and your personal take on the history is of great interest to me.
Thank you Lucy, your view of your role is the very important reason we all love and follow you. Refreshing takes on old stories, always with a very human perspective that also does make crusty old-fashioned historians (like me) think: uum, she's got a (or several) very god points there; time to reassess! Just keep bringing us your superb (always well-researched) Public Her/History, I learn so much and it's also such fun.
I teach History "across the pond" in the US. And I try to make my class really understand the people, events, time periods etc. Just like you said, for those who don't know they like history-yet. And I deal with teenagers!! My colleagues and I love your documentaries, and have used them in our classes. No matter what you "dive into" we're interested! So....surprise us!!
There is one thing I have wondered about. Did Henry VIII leave the Catholic Church or was he a Catholic until he died? I've never read of him being excommunicated and he seemed to be a staunch Catholic until it no longer fit his plans. Just curious.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts and live videos these past few months. I even introduced a friend of mine, who loves history but had never heard of you (how is that even possible?) to your various pages/websites. I think she’s hooked just as much as I am! Looking forward to what’s to come.

Will you be asking Helen any questions about her excellent book The Eagle and the Hart?
Keep them coming, Lucy...we love My Life in the Past!
Lots of behind the scenes stuff, like at Hampton and The Tower...and a huge variety of gloves 😀

I liked what you wrote about bloody mary! That she had not toppled as many as her relatives. The boys in the tower was interesting too!
My life in the past has all been very interesting. Thank you Lucy - looking back really helps us remember what we have learnt over these 4 months.
Lovely.🌹❤️🌹
How can we ardent LW subscribers in the US participate in Lucy’s monthly video chat? I’m a new subscriber. Thanks!
